This very odd statement is from Microsoft Unfortunately, we could not get stock quote MSFT this time. Marketing chief Chris Capossela. “We do worry when people are running an operating system that’s 10 years old that the next printer they buy isn’t going to work well, or they buy a new game, they buy Fallout 4, a very popular game, and it doesn’t work on a bunch of older machines,” Capossela stated. “And so, as we are pushing our ISV [Independent Software Vendor] and hardware partners to build great new stuff that takes advantage of Windows 10 that obviously makes the old…

Truthful, but not very PC…

So, still no official (or even unofficial) explanation from Mozilla as to why they suddenly (as in July 9th) banished Silverlight NPAPI from the upcoming Win64 Firefox releases. Mozilla’s silence on this dramatic change with the Win64 Fx is a bad thing for things to come. Why are they being so secretive? Why choose the worse of two evils (Flash)? Why continue to support a plugin that everyone (including Facebook) is trying to move away from (Flash > HTML5)? So yesterday the discussion in Bug 1165981 (this was the bug that was suppose to Whitelist BOTH Flash and Silverlight NPAPI in…

I was checking Amazon.com this morning on my Samsung Galaxy S4 with the Amazon Shopping App. Today is Prime Day so was seeing what they had to offer. I was presented with a pop-up notification to update what I thought was for the Amazon Shopping App. I started the update and the first red flag that came up was it wanted me to Enable Unknown Sources on my device’s security settings. Basically, this is to allow you to be able to install apps outside the Google Play Store. I was somewhat confused why I needed to do this, but went ahead and…

Tablet News Week of March 10th, 2013

Actually, some of this news is from a couple weeks ago. Not as much tablet news lately as there was earlier this year with the big trade shows. Google’s (overpriced) Touchscreen Chrome Laptop

Google announced today they are going to be releasing a touchscreen Chrome laptop as early as next week. As I started looking over the specs and the prices, I can’t help but think of Apple. For $1300 (Wi-Fi) or $1449 (LTE due in April) you get a laptop with a 12.85-inch touchscreen with 2560 x 1700 resolution, an Intel i5 (dual-core) 1.8 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, 2 USB 2.0 ports and a 32 GB Solid-State Drive and 3-years free 1 TB Cloud Storage. If it weren’t for the fact it runs the Chrome OS, I would think this had to be a Mac. For $1300 I…
