It has not been a good week for Nvidia Unfortunately, we could not get stock quote nvda this time.. News came out the end of last week, that for the second straight quarter PC Sales have declined and this is the biggest decline in the last two years. One of the factors was an unusually big push in PC sales last year because of Microsoft phasing out Windows XP. First off, had no idea the former Microsoft CEO had purchased the Los Angeles Clippers. Anyway, he still supports Microsoft and has told the staff (including the head coach) ‘no iPads’. Ballmer has told the staff at the L.A. Clippers — including head coach Doc Rivers — that he doesn’t want iPads around the front office or on the bench. Ballmer tells Reuters that most of the Clippers organization is already using Windows, though he conceded that some of the coaches and players are not. I’ve never been a fan of Apple products. They are over-priced and use proprietary parts and accessories. Yes their products are high quality. In the case of a phone or computer I figure the Apple brand is going to last the same amount of time as the non-Apple brand. Actually, some of this news is from a couple weeks ago. Not as much tablet news lately as there was earlier this year with the big trade shows. Due to development restrictions placed by Apple for third-party browsers, Mozilla announced they have no plans at this time to release a version of Firefox which would support the Apple iPhone or iPad. In order to accommodate Apple’s restrictions, Mozilla would need to redesign the Firefox rendering engine to use WebKit (used by Google Chrome and Apple’s Safari) instead of the current Gecko. via Tom’s Hardware
Mozilla announced last week they have a prototype of what it to be a very scaled down version of the Firefox browser for the iPad. Code named Junior, this browser will not be built upon the traditional Gecko rendering engine due to restriction imposed by Apple (AppStore). Instead the browser will be based on Webkit. While this does offer other browser choices for iPad users, they will not have all the options that a Gecko based browser would have.
