Firefox 11.0 for Android Nightly (Fennec) builds beginning with the 11-22-11 nightly build will be on the new native UI. This build should be offered to Fennec users begining on 11-23-11. Note: Mozilla does not intend to update Honeycomb users to Native UI, as there is no Android tablet support yet.

As mentioned last month, Mozilla is dropping XUL (eXtensible User interface Language, an XML grammar used by Mozilla to define user interfaces for Firefox and Thunderbird) in favor of using Android’s own Native user interface. This move was to increase performance and handling of Firefox on Android devices. Mozilla has now announced “Flash is now a supported plugin in forthcoming native Firefox for Android.” This despite the fact that Adobe announced on November 9th, 2011 it is discontinuing Flash development on mobile platforms. Mozilla has announced they will be moving away from using XUL (eXtensible User interface Language, an XML grammar used by Mozilla to define user interfaces for Firefox and Thunderbird) in favor of using Android’s own Native user interface. The main reasoning behind this will be to improve Firefox’s performance on Android devices, which unlike your typical desktop/laptop PC, don’t have as much memory or processing power. Firefox for Tablets Nightly Launched

Mozilla has launched an updated nightly version of Fennec (Firefox for Mobile) which will run on Android based Tablets. According to the comments it also will work on Nook Color running CyanogenMod 7 as well as on some other OS such as Linux with a little hacking. Keep in mind this is still a nightly build, so there are still a lot of bugs and kinks to work out.
